I built Blank Canvas Collective to bridge a gap I felt post-grad. I’ve benefited from incredible mentors, but I quickly realized that their strategy was shaped by a version of the industry that no longer exists. 

The impact of COVID, the rise of self-submissions and increasingly competitive agency landscape, the rapid evolution of digital branding, and the infamous late-night NU list — this is the industry I entered. And I felt like I was figuring it alone.

What I’ve realized is that the struggles I faced weren’t unique — they’re the same hurdles most actors encounter. The difference was learning how to navigate them: staying consistent, building relationships, and creating my own work when opportunities didn’t come knocking. Those experiences have shaped the tools and strategies I now bring into BCC.

Instead of theoretical Q&As, I give practical assignments. Instead of outdated “rules,” I share modern strategies for branding, auditioning, networking, and even producing your own work — with or without an agent, and regardless of the size of your résumé.

I’m also passionate about developing new work. As a writer and producer, I believe we can’t wait for the industry to hand us opportunities, we have to create them ourselves. Through BCC, I aim to create that same space for actors: a place to learn, collaborate, and build careers on their own terms.
